The state of Odisha stretches south from West Bengal along the coast of India's Bay of Bengal. Looking into the faces of the believers in the mountain villages of Central Odisha, one sees joy, strength, and perseverance. Nowhere in India are these traits more necessary because nowhere in India are the people endured such hardship. A wave of religious persecution swept this region a few years ago, leaving many families homeless and costing the lives of some. As a result we saw orphans begging on the streets and and other families so destitute as to be unable to support their children. Far from wavering in their hope, Covenant Family Church in this area has rallied to gather and care

for these children, creating a group home for them. Up to this very moment about 100 of these children are living in a tiny rented house with no running water, toilets, or beds, sleeping on mats on the floor each night. But this is about to change.
For the first time in sixteen years Compasssion Way founder Rick Perryman was able to visit the mountain villages of Odisha in 2016, free from fear of violence.
