The '5 by 12' Challenge : to build a Children's Home in Odisha
In our December newsletter we challenged twelve individuals to donate $5,000 each, starting with Compassion Way president Rick Perryman, to pay for the construction of a facility to house the Odisha Children's Home (described below). The deplorable conditions in which these children are living has remained unchanged for almost two years, and we can no longer just 'talk about' the need. We decided it was time to declare ourselves 'ALL IN'. We extended our faith for $60,000 to see a building erected on the empty footing of the property God has already provided. We want to see these children in a spacious facility with running water, toilets, and real beds by summer 2017. If God has spoken to you to participate in this campaign to change the lives of these future warriors for the kingdom of God in India, now is the time. 5 by 12 Challenge Update!
God has reminded us once again of His faithfulness in response to our obedience. We raised our faith for $60,000 and in the first four weeks more than $40,000 has been pledged and more than $30,000 of that has already been received. But we don't want to focus on the process but the goal. We are excited that dozens of children will soon have a safe, healthy environment in which to grow. And we want to thank all who have prayed, donated, and encouraged us in this effort. May God bless all. |

Compassion Way founder Rick Perryman will be visiting India and Bangladesh the last two weeks of February 2017 and hopes to have the full amount for the construction at that time. If so, the planning and permitting phase of the project can begin as early as March 2017

One city in West Bengal contains the highest concentration of leprosy victims in Asia. They live apart from the rest of society, shunned and forgotten. But Covenant Family Church has started shattering cultural barriers by including the children of these colonies in their school and Child Development Center, until recent events intervened. A major international child sponsorship organization that was partnering in this effort lost it's registration in India and the Center has been forced to close, halting this barrier-breaking program. With your help this vital process can resume as we launch our own Child Sponsorship Program. Details to follow |

Odisha Children's Home
In recent years many children were orphaned or left destitute by religious persecution in the remote mountain villages of Odisha. A pastor from CFC began gathering them into a tiny rented house where now almost ninety children are sleeping on mats on the floor. They have no running water or toilets. Through our Child Sponsorship program we can ensure that they receive regular meals, clothing, an education, and basic medical care. |
